Klæpa Bruk

Share

Klæpa bruk is a mill from 1867. From ancient times, there was a string of grinding houses and mills alongside the 14 waterfalls in the Svartelva River, and "Klæpakvenna" is a well-preserved example of this. The mill contains a Francis turbine from 1912, constructed and produced by Aadals Brug. This was rewarded with a gold medal at the Oslo jubilee exhibition in 1914 and installed when the mill was modernised in 1924. The mill has a high degree of authenticity and shows the developments in milling from the 19th century and onwards to the post-War period. The mill ceased production in 1967. Open days are arranged.
