Bryhni Søndre is a farm from 1760 which during the past five years has received a comprehensive, historically-sensitive restoration. We accept guests by prior booking and it is our wish that guests should receive an all-round experience consisting of food, wine, interior design and architecture. A talk on the history of the farm is included. The site has been inhabited since 500BC and the present buildings are rooted in a medieval farm. The host is a civil architect who is also a wine specialist who ensures good harmony between food and wine. The lady of the house has studied food in the perspective of culture and the farm chef focuses on a locally-influenced cuisine using local produce, served with his special "touch". The menus reflect seasonal availability of produce. An aperitif is served in the best lounge before the meal in the dining room. If there are more than 50 guests, dinner is served in a newly-restored sheep barn which can seat 120. We run courses in complementary food and wine and can put together activity packages as required. Sleigh riding is a natural feature in the winter. The secondary farmhouse is equipped for self catering, or it is possible to live there and to take meals in the main house. The former sleeps 13 in 6 bedrooms and also contains a lounge with a fireplace, a large kitchen with long dining table and two bathrooms. The main house sleeps 2. Welcome!
