Potter Stein Em. Simonsen

The ceramic artist and potter Stein Em. Simonsen is the sixth generation of a family of potters, and the eleventh generation in the trade from the 15th century. Thus he represents the longest unbroken pottery tradition in Norway. Hand-made articles such as large bowls and vases are for sale in his workshop and gallery. The "Sandnesgauk", a local musical instrument, is made in the traditional manner, with clay from Sandnes.
