Kongsfjord Landhandel village store & Cafe

Share

Kongsfjord landhandel is one of Finnmark's best-preserved trading posts. The buildings are unique and date back to about 1900 and their design takes its inspiration from Russia. Kongsfjord was a stopping place for the daily coastal steamer right up until 1954. The place was neither burned nor bombed during WWII, which means that several old buildings have been preserved. The village store and cafe have been restored with a high degree of authenticity. The cafe serves freshly-made waffles and local food, and there is often a bustle of activity involving locals and tourists.
