Kjeldsen Works is on Ekkerøy, a pleasant fishing village 12 km from Vadsø. The fishing village is a popular excursion spot with a famous bird rock. Kjeldsen Works was built up from 1900 to 1960, and is one of the few remaining fishing works in Finnmark from before the war. It consists of a quay, warehouse, cod liver oil factory, etc. A shop from 1946 with a residential section and a shop section is used as a café during the summer. There are exhibitions in the area, like "Birds in Varanger", "Historical fishing equiment", "About the Works".
