Riddarstøga Farmstead

Riddarstøga at Leirhol is from the period 1100-1300 A.D. and is one of the oldest farm in the area. Among the archaeological finds are burial mounds from the Bronze Age and the Iron Age. The knight Sigvat lived here around 1300 A.D. He came from the Norwegian feudal nobility and was one of the King's many vassals who were dispersed throughout the country. A cultural heritage trail leading to Leirholshøgda above the farm is posted with signs.
