Bagn District Museum

The Museum was founded in 1920. It encompasses 12 log buildings and a schoolhouse from the 18th and 19th centuries. The Museum also administers the tenant farm Sandvike and the national monument Bagnsbergatn - an isolated mountain farm situated directly above Bagn centre. The farm was the scene of dramatic fighting in April 1940. The exhibition building houses a war memorial exhibition that documents the fighting. The Museum also has exhibitions that focus on the history of education, textiles, old-fashioned crafts and agriculture/forestry.
