Leikvin District Museum

Leikvin historical culture park consists of Sunndal Village Museum, the Philipshage Botanical Gardens, the burial place and the graveyard in which Lady Arbuthnott is buried. The farmhouse was built in 1823. In 1880 the legendary Lady Arbuthnott bought the site. Leikvin museum has been extended with several more buildings. The main exhibitions are now centred around the British salmon fishing in the valley, the wild reindeer hunting over a period of 10 000 years and the general history of Sunndal. There is also a small archaeological exhibition. Oversettelse © www.noproblem.no 2009.
