Ratvolden, Johan Falkberget's Home

In his novels Johan Falkberget (1879-1967) has described the interplay between people, living conditions and nature in the copper mining days. The author was born and raised on the Falkberget farm in Rugldalen. From 1906 till 1922 he mostly lived in Kristiania (Oslo). In 1922 he built up the Ratvolden farm 600 m from his birthplace. This house is now a museum. A guided tour at Ratvolden tells the history of Johan Falkberget's life. The area around Ratvolden, which constitutes a beautiful cultural landscape, is always accesible for the public.
